In Costigliole d’Asti international celebration for Barbera wine

The Barbera grapes basket full represents the new look wearing this year the historical event of Costigliole d'Asti "Barbera il Gusto del Territorio", which also holds the auspicious title of "International Festival of Barbera", before and projected new interpretation towards a great enhancement. New signs so that they understand the important step forward that is making this event, enriching and deepening with great quality style elements constituting the territory you intend to celebrate with an international outlook precisely, that is, turned around to fans that world that is emerging more and more consistent on Costigliole’s hills marked Unesco.

The festival is curated by Pier Ottavio Daniele in coordination with the municipal government headed by Mayor Giovanni Borriero, and particularly with the Head of Tourism Michela Surano, as well as with the Municipal Wine Cellar of guided by Giorgio Gozzellino, ICIF, the Pro Loco, the Association Costigliole Cultura, WineaT, the hilly community “Tra Langhe e Monferrato”, Barbera d'Asti Consortium and wines of Monferrato, the bank and the foundation CR Asti and the Piedmont region. Many collaborations for an intense program that presents many valuable content, full of guests and events, spread over five days and that begins Friday, October 28: 18 pm in the multipurpose room next to the cellar of wines via Roma, the inauguration of exhibition of painting and sculpture Artists Association of Chieri; at 19, in the town theater, the presentation of Slow Wine Guide with Giancarlo Gariglio followed, at 21, the screening of the documentary film "BARBERA GIRLS - tacco 12" with a final toast.

The event goes live Saturday, October 29: at 10 am, at the Orangerie ICIF, another new feature is the "MASTER OF AGNOLOTTO dedicated to Lidia Alciati", a wonderful celebration of our precious kitchen and one of its recognized interpreters: a true lesson on preparing agnolotti with Mariuccia Ferrero, chef of the restaurant San Marco in Canelli (participation is free, reservation at No. tel. 329.2284049). At 11, at the City Council Hall, the "toast Inauguration" accompanies the presentation of the "Half Theatre season", while the nearby Wine Cellar opens tasting which serves 200 different wine tasting (glass and pocket 10 euro). At 19 in the municipal theater, Sergio Miravalle presents the new issue of the magazine "Astigiani" and the annual "Bagna Cauda Day" and at 20.30 in the Osteria "La Barbera" of the castle, there will be the "International Dinner" which proposes Barbera d'Asti in conjunction with the cuisines of the world: food and wine event curated by ICIF (the international cooking school) that presents the tastes of Mexico, India and Russia next to the agnolotti Starry Mariuccia Ferrero cook. A high-level culinary meeting that as a guest Piercarlo Grimaldi, Rector of the University of Gastronomic Sciences, and welcomes the screening of the documentary film "Beautiful to Eat. Sunday, October 30 is the "Barbera and Truffle Day", the streets and squares of Costigliole d'Asti are involved in the exhibition-truffle market, which in the restaurants and inns in the area can be enjoyed through the traditional dishes accompanied with Barbera d'Asti wine, while the Pro Loco offers lunch in the multipurpose room. Tasting to the Wine Cellar is open from 10 am to 23 hours, while at 21 in the town theater, the appointment is with fun free entry to the show "Spirit of the Night" with Pippo Bessone (formerly Tre Lilu group) that He interprets "Father Filip and half hour canonical". The show will be followed by another delicious moment: the preview of handmade panettone produced in Costigliole d'Asti in conjunction with local distilleries grappas. On this day castle tours are scheduled from 10 am to 12 noon and from 16 hours to 19. It 'also opened the church of St. Jerome from 16 to 18 hours for visits to the Museum of Sacred Art.

Respecting the tradition, Monday, October 31 accommodates a particular event dedicated to sector operators and wine lovers, but of course open to all: at 17:30 at the castle is in the workshop program "The Main Terroir Barbera", an interesting tasting that sees the contribution of Gianni Lerch ICIF; agronomist and president of the Barbera d'Asti Consortium Filippo Mobrici; Jonathan Gebser, David Panzieri and Pier Ottavio Daniele for Slow Wine and then Claudio Dacasto producers, Gianni Bertolino, Giorgio Gozzellino, Pietro Ratti, Dante Garrone, Elena Bassett and Andrea Costa to represent the different areas of Piedmont Barbera (tasting by appointment, tel . 329.2284049). On the same day the wine tasting is open from 11 am to 23 in the Wine Cellar at 21 which hosts the show of music, poetry and short story "That Barbera della Sera", with Gianpiero Nani and Bati Bertolio: the show is free entry and also provides for the distribution of zabaglione Barbera "Rousmà" and a tasting of vermouth.

Tuesday, November 1, wine tasting is open from 11 am to 21 hours and the Pro Loco offers lunch in the multipurpose room. The last act of this intense celebration Costigliole d'Asti is dedicating to Barbera, takes place at the municipal theater, where, at 18:30, we propose a musical aperitif: "Jazz at the Winery with Claudio Chiara Quartet," which closes this edition of the event and already calls for Costigliole d'Asti for next year.
